WHAT IS A BULGARIAN BAG?

The Bulgarian bag is a crescent shaped bag filled with sand and made from leather, PVC or canvas with a variety of holding handles.

The shape of the bag and it’s handles allow the user to easily swing, spin, rotate and lift through various movement patterns.

It can also be gripped, grabbed, dragged and grappled in an almost endless number of ways making the Bulgarian bag an extremely versatile and useful piece of kit.

The crescent shape contours the body perfectly making traditional strength training movements like squats, lunges and good mornings comfortable to perform.

WHAT IS A SANDBAG?

The Bulgarian bag and sandbag share some similarities, but the way they are used are quite different.

The sandbag is shaped differently and is used more for pushing, pulling and rotating movements and no so much for swinging or spinning like the Bulgarian bag

Because it’s filled with sand the bag is designed to constantly move and change shape which target many of the smaller stabiliser muscles and makes for a very challenging workout.

Just like the Bulgarian bag, the sandbag can also be gripped, grabbed, dragged and grappled in an almost endless number of ways.

WHAT IS A WATER BAG?

Hydro bags are the most advanced style of bag.

The water inside the bag constantly moves from side to side throughout the movement which forces the entire body to engage to stabilize the load.

The Bulgarian Hydro Bag combines the versatility of the Bulgarian Bag with the dynamic unpredictable force of water to develop strength, full-body stability and explosiveness.

IRT (Instability resistance training), builds full body stability from the floor up and is scientifically proven to achieve greater core activation than traditional strength training methods.
